Charter Senior Living is celebrating its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of growth, innovation and commitment to its mission of Enhancing the Human Spirit.
Founded in 2016, Charter has grown from a vision for senior living centered on purpose, connection and exceptional care into a leading owner, operator and manager of senior living communities nationwide. Today, Charter owns and manages more than 70 communities offering independent living, assisted living and memory care. In 2026, the company also broke ground on its 15th ground-up development, continuing its investment in the next generation of senior living.
“This anniversary is about much more than 10 years in business,” said Keven J. Bennema, co-founder and CEO of Charter Senior Living. “It is about the residents who have entrusted us with their care, the families who have welcomed us into their lives and the associates who bring our mission to life every day. To grow from an idea 10 years ago to more than 70 communities today is something we are incredibly proud of, but what matters most is that we have stayed true to our people, our residents and our mission.”
From the beginning, Charter has believed exceptional senior living is about more than providing a place to live. Its communities are focused on creating meaningful experiences, strong relationships and a sense of purpose and belonging for residents while providing families with confidence and peace of mind.
Charter has also continued to invest in innovative, person-centered care and programs, including its Flourish℠ Memory Care program, while building a culture where associates have a voice, opportunities to grow and meaningful careers serving older adults. As Charter looks toward its next decade, the company sees significant opportunity as the aging population continues to grow and expectations for senior living evolve.
